Anthropic Deploys Claude Cowork on Mobile and Web to Provide On-the-Go AI Task Management
The management of multiple, complicated steps in any artificial intelligence process requires a person to be tied to a desk and a laptop with it open. But by freeing itself from such physical barriers, Anthropic now offers its beta version of Claude Cowork for its Max subscribers on the mobile and web platforms.
Claude Cowork is, in essence, an independent agentic assistant instead of a regular chatbot that replies to text prompts. The user does not need to make a prompt, wait for the response, and then make another prompt to execute his or her task.
The user gives the AI assistant a general goal like making a detailed data dashboard, analyzing long texts, and organizing the contents of spreadsheet files. Then, the AI assistant comes up with an execution plan, chooses the software for the job, and builds the product independently.
The true greatness of this architecture is in its resilience. Since the tasks run in the cloud entirely, the Cowork sessions keep on running smoothly in the background despite the user switching off their laptop or logging out of their main machine. In case there is any doubt in the system about whether to proceed or not, it sends out a mobile push notification and waits until the user responds with approval from the smartphone.
For desktops, Cowork and chat offer the same workspace, enabling users to get easy access to their local files and browser extensions when working on heavy engineering.
On the other hand, the web interface for mobile allows professionals to check workflow progress even while they travel, thus ensuring perfect context continuity between devices.
As a way of commemorating the launch, Anthropic has doubled all limits temporarily until August 5, and this gives professionals in enterprises and creators a wide playground for testing large autonomous workflows while moving around, as opposed to the office computer screen.
