Apple Tweaks iOS 27 to Simplify AirPods Adaptive Audio Adjustments
Navigating menu after menu just for the purpose of tweaking the functioning of your earphones is an inconvenience that most wireless earphone owners have experienced. To solve this problem, Apple has introduced its new developer software, in which it tries to fix the issue in question. Within the new iOS 27 beta 3 that has been recently launched by Apple, there lies a very user-friendly interface update.
The feature called Adaptive Audio is basically designed to function as a smart balance between noise cancellation and transparency modes. In other words, it listens to the surroundings and decides which sounds should be canceled and which ones are important to hear in order not to miss something.
For instance, you will be able to hear approaching traffic but ignore unpleasant construction work going on in the streets. However, adjusting the level of environmental sounds previously required a lot of effort.
iOS 27 beta three, however, breaks the chain and introduces an ingenious modification of the process that makes it possible to change the setting from the first page, where one can see the name of the device. The user simply needs to click on the connected earbuds and will be faced with the traditional four listening modes: Off, Transparency, Adaptive, and Noise Cancellation.
The difference is that when Adaptive is selected, two dots appear on the left and right sides of the mode. By clicking on the first, users decrease the intensity of noise isolation, whereas the second increases it.
In this case, even though the new layout offers three different levels instead of a slider that offers infinite possibilities for adjustments, it becomes much easier to find the necessary function.
The change presents one more audio adjustment that was not known to many users who used these devices casually. It should be noted that since the system is currently under developer testing, it might be improved in some way before being released to the public later this fall.
