Financial Assistant in Your Pocket: Google Launches Gemini-Powered AI Chatbot on Google Pay in India
Google is now offering its Indian users a personal finance helper named “Ask Google Pay,” which can be accessed via its popular UPI application. The AI technology behind this finance helper comes from the Gemini AI suite developed by the company itself.
Through voice and text-based inputs, the user can study his expenditure, make a budget plan for the month, and also understand complex financial notions. This specific AI acts differently from other typical chatbots. It acts within the boundaries of the payment system.
The user can ask for data regarding past transactions, expenditure based on category analysis, or even for clarifications about complex financial notions like compound interest, SIPs, and taxes. The bot was developed with a wide audience in mind, which is why 10 Indian languages were considered during development. Moreover, it suggests the best credit cards according to personal spending patterns and CIBIL scores.
Privacy and security are the key concerns of this product launch, and this is why the company has explicitly developed “Ask Google Pay” as an opt-in experience. The company has also stated that no private data, such as bank account numbers, PINS, and card details in full are ever processed.
Moreover, all the conversational data will always remain securely locked in the Google Pay ecosystem and not distri buted throughout the entire web. In addition to the AI-powered assistant, Google has launched another product for digital lending, the Google Pay Flex SBI Card on the RuPay platform.
It is a co-branded credit card that allows users to apply for it through the application in the digital environment and have EMI repayment options available through the application.
