Apple Ships iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate Powered by Siri AI

Apple has released the operating system upgrade for its latest flagship operating system in 2026. This upgrade comes with updates such as iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate 27 to be used globally by millions of people. The update features a focus on Siri AI, which is a large language model that involves upgrading the assistant on the basis of AFM 3 architecture.

The Siri AI flagships are characterized by personal context awareness, on-screen analyses, and cross-app actions within iOS and macOS. On-device models like AFM 3 Core, which has 3 billion parameters, are among the models used in Siri, along with the cloud-based model to enable Siri to analyze user history, generate custom Shortcuts, and undertake complex actions.

On the Mac, there is also a Siri application and fixing of search issues across Spotlight and Mail. In response to user feedback, the company modified its “Liquid Glass” design system by adding a transparency slider to allow users to manually control the opacity level of application sidebars, toolbars, and controls system-wide.

The latest release also includes new window controls, pull-to-refresh gestures across native applications, and enhanced screen recording functionality. This deployment illustrates the company’s approach to blending local computing power with the private cloud in order to deliver intelligence on device.

By limiting the use of advanced AI features and system functionality only to Apple Silicon-based devices, the company motivates users to upgrade their hardware and reduces software maintenance responsibilities. The release of iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate proves that generative AI is becoming an integral part of consumer operating systems.

With such a rollout of the structure, Apple will have an opportunity to obtain substantial engagement from users and will drive hardware upgrade cycles and force competing software ecosystems to deploy intelligence on devices.
